CINCINNATI -- Police are investigating the death of a man who was fatally shot in Northside Wednesday night.
District Five officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 4300 block of Virginia Avenue at about 11:46 p.m. There, the officers found 27-year-old Michael Browning dead in a driveway.
The Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating Browning's death.
Neighbors said the shooting was unsettling. There have been two shootings in the neighborhood in the past two weeks.
"It's scary," Bertie Wesley said. "You don't know. It may be your house next."
Bullets recently hit Tent Rissover's Northside home, missing his bed by just a couple feet.
"To hear this happen again so close ... I don't feel good about that," he said.
Police said that shootings are down from the past two years. The Violent Crime Squad also recently closed down Ginger's bar on Blue Rock Road in hopes of preventing repeated crime there.
Police asked that anyone with information call the Criminal Investigation Section at 513-352-3542 or Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040. Anyone with information can also text "CINTIP" plus the message to 274637. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may receive compensation, police said.
