Car ran flashing red light, hit police cruiser, according to Cincinnati police

CINCINNATI — Police say they believe a 27-year-old woman was impaired when she drove through a flashing red light and struck a Cincinnati police cruiser early Wednesday morning in North Avondale.

The crash happened just before 4:30 a.m. in the intersection of Dickson and East Mitchell avenues, according to a CPD release.

Juanita Hines was driving a car north on Dickson Avenue when she struck Sgt. Stewart Isaacs' SUV, which was going east on East Mitchell, the release said.

Hines and Isaacs, 54, had minor injuries and were taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The Traffic Unit is investigating. Witnesses are asked to cal 513-352-2514.
