CINCINNATI -- Police are searching for information on a man who was shot and killed just after midnight Tuesday morning in West Price Hill.

Timothy Janson, 27, was shot around 12:14 a.m. Tuesday in the 4100 block of Flower Avenue. He was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Neighbors say they heard the shots and saw Janson down on the sidewalk. They called for help and tried CPR while they waited for officers to arrive. The gunfire hit too close to home for neighbor Joe Bremer, whose storm door was shattered by stray bullets that lodged in his main door.

Bremer was asleep inside with his 2-year-old and says the neighborhood has had some issues with a drug raid and heroin overdoses.

"It was unreal," Bremer said. "I didn't expect something like that. I thought this was a good neighborhood. Heroin has turned out to be a big problem in this area. The only thing I can add is if you know someone on heroin get them some help."

The investigation by the Homicide Unit is ongoing. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Section at (513) 352-3542 or CRIMESTOPPERS at (513) 352-3040 or text “CINTIP” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).  Callers may remain anonymous and may receive compensation for their information.
