CINCINNATI — A man was in court Saturday morning after he injured a Metro bus driver in a shooting Monday night, according to court documents.

William O'Neal, 39, faced two counts of felonious assault and one count of tampering with evidence after a shooting Monday night. Court documents say he shot at two people on Winneste Avenue, but missed them and struck a Metro bus instead.

The front window of the bus shattered, and the bus driver went to the hospital. The driver was not injured by the bullet but by broken glass, Metro spokesman Brandy Jones said.

After the shooting, court documents say O'Neal tossed the gun in the woods behind Winton Hills Elementary School.

O'Neal "totally denies" involvement in the shooting, according to his attorney.

The judge set O'Neals bond at $510,000, and he is being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
