CINCINNATI -- Just 2 months ago, Veronica Goodloe was homeless and fearful for the future. Now, she has a new home, new friends and a new outlook.
When I first met Veronica, she had a new roof over her head, but very little else. She and her 6-year-old daughter, Jameera, were sleeping on the floor.
After Veronica’s story ran on 9 On Your Side, so many viewers called and emailed, wanting to help. One couple was especially touched by Veronica’s struggle with a sick child because they had lived through the same thing.
“We saw it on the news, and we also have a heart child,” said viewer Roberta Bond. “Thirteen years ago, we were in the same situation.”
That’s when things began kicking into motion.
Another viewer with a more recognizable face, Furniture Fair spokesman Ed Hartman, reached out to 9 On Your Side, wanting to help.
