CINCINNATI -- A Cincinnati woman spent Wednesday and Thursday recovering after being physically attacked by a stranger while she stood in line at a Kroger, she said.

Taylor, who declined to share her last name on air, said she was on driving to the store Tuesday when she heard a man yelling at her. The yelling followed her into the parking lot, but she brushed it aside and entered the store. That’s when she was assaulted, she said.

"He comes in and starts screaming at me," Taylor said. "He got belly-to-belly with me, and I was really uncomfortable, so I pushed him off of me."

That’s when he slapped her, Taylor said, and the barrage of blows didn’t stop.

She said the man hit her three times in the face and twice in the back of her head, and she was stunned when people inside the store did not step in to help.

“I didn’t know what to do," she said. “I was in tears."

She said he then slashed her tires.

Cincinnati police said Thursday night they were working to get surveillance video from the Kroger.
