CINCINNATI -- It’s a final flight of honor to pay tribute to some of America’s greatest heroes.

A group of 50 veterans will fly from Cincinnati to Washington, D.C., on the last Honor Flight of the season on Tuesday.

The group includes service members from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

During their trip, the honorees will get to tour monuments dedicated to their service at the nation’s capitol.

It’s the fifth honor flight of the year. More than 2,500 veterans have been able to make the trip so far.

The memories of those trips and of the veterans’ service have been put into a book: “The Legacy of Courage: True Stories of Honor Flight Veterans.” It was released this week.
