Driver hospitalized in critical condition after crash, police say

CINCINNATI -- A Driver is hospitalized in critical condition after he struck another vehicle while making a U-turn Saturday afternoon, police said.

Craig Collum, 31, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Prizm westbound on River Road at about 5:35 p.m. when he attempted to make the U-turn, police said. While making the turn, he struck a 2010 Nissan Altima.

Collum was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.

The other driver was treated at Mercy West Medical Center and released.

Police said that neither impairment nor excessive speed appeared to be factors in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation. Police asked that anyone with information call the Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
