CINCINNATI -- A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection to a Mount Airy shooting that killed one man and injured another Tuesday night.

Bahaudin Jacobs, 25, stands charged with the murder of Deshawn Jenkins, a 19-year-old whose death was the last in an unexpectedly violent 12 hours for the Tri-State area.

Just minutes before police discovered Jenkins and another victim suffering from gunshot wounds on Eastknoll Court, 34-year-old Kendall Perkins had been found shot to death inside his car.

Hours before that, 37-year-old Cheryl Allender was shot dead in her home. Her husband, John Allender, now stands charged with murder in connection to her death; relatives are raising money for the couple’s six children, some of whom police said witnessed the shooting.

Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot Isaac attributed the sudden rash of deaths to an "ebb and flow of violence" experienced by many other cities across the country. Twenty-one people have been killed in Cincinnati this year.

Police ask anyone with information about the other shootings to call the Criminal Investigation Section at 513-352-3542 or Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040 or submit a tip at P3tips.com. Callers may remain anonymous and may receive compensation for their information.
