CINCINNATI — Hoxworth Blood Center is offering an incentive for people who donate blood ahead the holidays.
If you’re skeptical about Santa bringing you the latest gadgets, donate blood for a chance to win an Amazon Echo Show (2nd generation) during Tech Week. All donors who give blood, platelets or plasma at one of Hoxworth’s seven donor centers between Dec. 10 and Dec. 15 will be entered to win.

There are 30 Echo Show devices up for grabs. One donor will win per day, per open donor center.
Hoxworth’s donor center sites include:
- Anderson
- Blue Ash
- University of Cincinnati
- Ft. Mitchell
- North
- Tri-County
- West
Days and hours of operation vary by location.
Typically blood centers across the country get fewer donations in the days and weeks leading up to Christmas and Thanksgiving, according to Hoxworth spokesperson Alecia Lipton.
“While the rest of us are preparing for the holidays, there are dozens of local patients who need blood and platelets to survive traumas, surgeries and cancer treatments,” she said in a written statement.
