CINCINNATI -- It can be as simple as sitting next to someone at the lunch table.

Cincinnati Public School officials said they hope lessons from “No One Eats Alone Day” will
promote inclusion.

Pleasant Hill Academy sixth-graders learned how to best include their peers at a Buckeye Health Plan initiative Friday.

Monique Gladden, director of case management, said the event aims to discourage bullying within schools.

"Exclusion is a precursor to bullying so being able to include and teach behaviors where you're including and learning how to develop local skills with individuals that you're not necessary close to are things we're hoping children will learn and take with them,” Gladden said.

Each student signed a poster pledging to include others beyond “No One Eats Alone Day.”
