CINCINNATI -- Children in Hamilton County can receive free breakfast and lunch starting today.
Cincinnati Public Schools sponsors the Summer Food Service Program, which runs until August 3. Free breakfast and lunch will be available to children (or to anyone between the ages of 19 and 21 with a physical or mental disability) Monday through Friday at schools, recreation centers libraries and other locations around the district.
Participants need to come to a serving site 15 minutes before the serving time. No registration is required. All meals must be consumed at the site, and no meals will be served on July 4.
Click here to see a list of locations where meals will be served or call the CPS Food Services Department at 513-363-0800.
The Summer Food Service Program is federally funded; CPS sponsors the program alongside the Cincinnati Recreation Commission and other groups.
Indiana's Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation added a second location to their summer meal program.
The meals are free for any child regardless of income. Meals are available every weekday starting June 7 and continuing through July, with the exception of the Fourth of July.
