CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Public Schools will close all of their schools beginning Monday, March 16, according to an announcement from the district. There are currently no cases of COVID-19 confirmed within the CPS district.

Initially, the district had closed select schools and suspended all international trips amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The district announced it has decided it will close all schools Monday, as a precautionary measure, and remain closed through April 3.

Student Dining Services for the district will still distribute meals for students who need them from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. starting Tuesday, March 17, according the release from CPS communications officer Frances Russ. On Mondays and Wednesdays, students can receive two breakfast meals and two lunch meals. On Fridays and on Tuesday, March 17, students will receive one breakfast meal and one lunch meal.

Meals will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, the release states. Families with children can drive through or walk up and pick up the meals at school sites, but children must be present with their family.
