CINCINNATI — A man died after the van he was driving went off the side of Interstate 75 and rolled over Wednesday morning.

Clyde Waddell Jr., 57, was driving a 2002 Ford E150 van north on I-75 past the Western Hills Viaduct at about 6:25 a.m. when he veered to the right across lanes of traffic, went off the road, through the grass, hit a fence and then the van rolled and came to a rest on its roof, police said.

Firefighters drove Waddell to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment, but he died at the hospital from his injuries.

Police said they're still investigating the cause of the crash. They don't believe speed was a factor in the crash and haven't determined if impairment was a factor.

Waddell was wearing his seat belt, police said.

Police asked any witnesses to call the Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
