CINCINNATI – A Hamilton County grand jury indicted a pair on involuntary homicide charges in the death of an 84-year-old woman.

Kimberly Taggart, 41, and John Reid, 55, “restrained the liberty” of 84-year-old Geraldine Joyce Chandler while she was in their care in October, according to the indictment.

By failing to provide Chandler, who was “functionally impaired,” with the care she needed, they caused her death, the indictment states.

Also, Reid had a firearm despite a previous marijuana trafficking conviction from 1992, according to the indictment.

Taggart was charged with abduction, involuntary manslaughter, failing to provide for a functionally impaired person and reckless homicide. Reid was charged with the same crimes, plus having weapons while under disability.
