CINCINNATI — An early morning fire in Mt. Washington has left 10 families displaced and one person injured, according to a report released by the Cincinnati Fire Department.

CFD was dispatched to an apartment complex on 1809 Mears Ave. around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning. According to their report of the incident, crews arrived to heavy flames coming from one apartment on the third floor. The fire was contained to the apartment and was put out within 20 minutes. Crews also found a person lying on the ground outside of the building after apparently jumping from a balcony. They were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

The Cincinnati Red Cross is assisting 10 families -- 17 adults and seven minors -- who will be displaced from the damage to the building. Damage is estimated at $100,000. The Cincinnati Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause.
