WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Deputies are investigating a reported case of child enticement involving an older male in a “rusty green colored van,” according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

The man approached a 10-year-old boy at about 8:25 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of West Mill and Hill Street in Whitewater Township, authorities said.

The intersection is less than 500 feet away from Miamitown Elementary School.

The man asked the boy if he wanted a ride. When the boy declined, the man offered the boy candy. The boy again told the man no, according to authorities, and said he would call police.

The suspect drove away from the area.
