BLUE ASH, Ohio — Two Ursuline Academy students are facing charges for making violent threats on social media, according to Blue Ash Police.

Police said a 16-year-old student created a post on Snapchat threatening violence at a school event last Friday. Another 16-year old student took a screenshot of the Snapchat post and posted it on Instagram, police said.

As a precaution, police said they were on hand for the event on Friday, even though they said there was not an imminent threat.

The teen accused of creating the Snapchat post is facing charges of inducing panic and telecommunications harassment, police said.

The second teen accused of distributing the original post on Instagram is facing charges of making false alarms, according to police.

Both teens will be issued a court date in Hamilton County Juvenile Court.

Blue Ash Police will continue to investigate the incident.
