ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Forest Hills School District bus driver was cited for a Thursday morning crash that sent a woman and several minors to the hospital, officials said.
Immaculate Heart Of Mary students were on the bus at the time of the crash near 7932 Beechmont Ave. The bus driver, John Demarco, made a left turn from eastbound Beechmont Avenue into the path of a Ford Focus, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. A 33-year-old driver struck the right side of the bus and “was not able to avoid a collision,” the sheriff said.
The driver of the Ford Focus and three minors in her vehicle, ages 11, 13 and 15, were all transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Five children on the bus, ages 6 to 12, were taken to the hospital by their parents with possible injuries.
Demarco was cited for failure to yield while turning left. Speed, alcohol or drugs were not factors in this crash, the sheriff said.
The crash closed westbound Beechmont Avenue at about 8 a.m. It has since reopened.
