HAMILTON, Ohio — A fire broke out early Sunday morning at the historic Butler County Courthouse in Hamilton, according to fire department crews on scene.
Hamilton Fire Chief Thomas Eickelberger said a fire began in the basement of the courthouse at 101 High Street at around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The fire was contained to one room in the basement, and no injuries were reported.
Operations of Butler County Area II Court and the Butler County Probate Court will be temporarily suspended from the Butler County Historic Courthouse throughout the week of February 23.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
