CINCINNATI — University of Cincinnati President Santa Ono will testify in the case of former UC police officer Ray Tensing, who is charged with murder in the death of Sam DuBose.
Tensing’s defense attorneys filed a motion earlier this month to depose Ono, who recently announced he would be leaving UC for the top administrative spot at the University of British Columbia, for his testimony regarding the Mount Auburn traffic stop that resulted in DuBose’s death last July.
Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Meghan Shanahan approved the motion Thursday morning.
Tensing is facing one count of murder and one count of voluntary manslaughter. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 9.
