COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Police say a former Ohio State University employee shot and killed himself in a gallery at the campus' contemporary art museum after vandalizing some artwork.
No one else was injured in the shooting, which was reported at 11:20 a.m. Sunday at the Wexner Center for the Arts. It happened shortly after the museum was scheduled to open for the day with a Picasso-inspired show on display.
The museum is closed until further notice as the investigation continues.
The university did not identify the man. Acting university police chief Craig Stone says the victim last worked for the school in 2009.
Stone says police responded immediately to the call and that there was no ongoing threat to the university community. A university spokesman said artwork damage had not been fully assessed.
