CINCINNATI -- Former Bengals player and current real estate developer Chinedum Ndukwe will give a Northern Kentucky or Cincinnati area minority high school student $10,000 towards their college education.

The scholarship, funded through the Ndukwe Foundation, will be given to an applicant for the 2016-2017 who submits a short essay before April 10.

To qualify for the scholarship, current high school senior students must be of a minority race or ethnicity, participate in high school sports, have a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale), have plans to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university and "display leadership, selflessness, demonstrate a passion for community service and display examples of entrepreneurial spirit," according to a press release from the foundation.
