UNION TOWNSHIP (Clermont County), Ohio -- A condo complex fire in the Mount Carmel area has left more than a dozen people homeless early Tuesday morning.

Fire crews responded around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to 555 Aspen Glen Drive, where an apartment building was fully engulfed in flames. All tenants were able to get out safely, but at least three condominiums of the 12-unit building have heavy fire damage.

Union Township Fire Chief Stan Diemling says they believe the fire started outside in the the rear of the complex and spread across the roof once it got into the attic. Three units have fire damage, while all 12 units have varying degrees of smoke and water damage.

Crews had to help one woman out of her apartment, and the Red Cross is assisting at least 17 displaced residents.
