Pedestrian hit in Amelia Saturday, died next day

PIERCE TWP., Ohio — A pedestrian hit by a vehicle while crossing SR-125 Saturday night died on Sunday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

OSHP said in a release that Owen Turner, 25, of New Richmond, was crossing SR-125 on Saturday night around 9:18 p.m. when he was hit by the driver of a Hyndai Elantra traveling southeast along the road.

Police said Turner was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center by AirCare, and passed away the next day.

The crash remains under investigation by the OSHP, who haven't identified any causes for the crash. No charges have been filed against the driver.
