NEVILLE, Ohio -- Emergency crews spent Friday morning pulling a stolen car from the Ohio River in this small Clermont County river town despite the pouring rain.
Clermont County dispatchers said a fisherman spotted the vehicle floating in the river near the Morgan Street boat ramp at about 8:45 a.m. Friday. Police said they contacted the car's owner via telephone and that he had reported it stolen out of Covington, Kentucky.
There were no occupants inside, a Clermont County Sheriff's deputy said. The first tow truck that tried to pull the car to the banks of the river had its cable snap, so a second truck was called to finish the job.
