MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A Miami Township man stands charged with four felonies after his 6-year-old granddaughter overdosed on his medication and died.
According to a news release from Miami Township police, 82-year-old Benjamin Kinman and his daughter, Stasha Kinman, both face charges of involuntary manslaughter, endangering children and obstructing justice in connection to the girl's October 2017 death.
Benjamin Kinman also faces a charge of aggravated trafficking in drugs.
"This is a tragic case that could have been avoided," Det. Brent Higgins said in the release.
Miami Township residents with unused and expired medication are encouraged to take it to the police department, where it can be safely destroyed.
