GOSHEN TWP., Ohio – Police are trying to figure out who slashed the tires on 18 vehicles in a mobile home park overnight.
Residents were pretty upset to discover the damage on Black Friday morning. Instead of shopping for holiday deals, some had to go out looking for new tires and or spend the day trying to repair the damage.
"It's ridiculous," said Alan Partin. "There's people here that can't afford it, especially the elderly."
The vandals cut more than 30 tires at the Lakeshore Mobile Home Park just off State Route 28. The damage amounted to more than $4,000, police said.
One of the victims, a 71-year-old woman with a disability, said she didn't know what she was going to do. She's on a fixed income and can't afford to replace two new tires.
"I don’t know why someone would want to hurt or cause someone so much pain," she said.
Goshen Police don't have much to go on right now. They hope anyone with information will contact officer Matt Bucksath at 513-722-3200 or Matt.Bucksath@Goshen-Oh.gov.
