Fire destroys mobile home, kills several dogs

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio – A mobile home was destroyed and several dogs were killed in a fire Sunday afternoon.

A caller reported the fire around 4:45 p.m. at the mobile home on Holly Lane in Fay Gardens, firefighters said.

When firefighters arrived, they found the home “heavily involved in fire.” They were able to knock down the fire in about five minutes.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but several dogs were found dead inside, firefighters said.

Goshen Fire and EMS were assisted by mutual aid agencies from Miami Township, Loveland and Stonelick Township.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation.

The Red Cross was assisting the homeowners.

Firefighters said they wanted to emphasize the importance of having working smoke detectors.
