FBI probes bomb threats at local, Ohio schools

Posted

WEST CHESTER TWP., Ohio – Who phoned bomb threats to a Lakota elementary school and several other schools in Ohio last week?

That what the FBI is trying to find out.

West Chester police said a call to Endeavor Elementary made a reference to " wanting to blow the school up."

Lakota spokesperson Lauren Boettcher said all 900 Endeavor students were taken to another school as a precaution. Then information began trickling in about threats to other schools in Dayton and throughout the state.

A spokesperson with Ohio Homeland Security confirmed Tuesday that the FBI is "looking into" the threats.

The Ohio Department of Education released this statement:

"We don't know how many other school districts were affected by these bomb threats or how far geographically it goes."

Lakota officials say they haven't seen or heard anything unusual since Friday.
