WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A local couple says their 15-week-old puppy was lost while in the care of a dog trainer.

Eric and Michelle Cosgrove said they brought their puppy, Nola, to John C. Smith, whose website advertises "Professional dog training...successfully creating well trained dogs and completely satisfied owners in the greater Cincinnati area since 1994!"

Smith's programs range between $375 and $1,250, according to the site. He also promises "satisfaction guaranteed."

The Cosgroves said their dog went missing during a 48-hour boarded training program. They were supposed to be reunited with Nola on Tuesday. Smith told them Monday night that the dog went missing at his home in West Chester. However, the dog was supposed to trained exclusively at a location in Lunken.

Nola has been missing since Saturday night, her owners said. She is microchipped, wears a green collar and needs to take medication.

They said Smith has not helped find the puppy or returned any of their phone calls.
