WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio – West Chester Police responding to a called about a disabled vehicle on Muhlhauser Road didn't expect what they found Sunday night:

A single vehicle and a man pinned between the vehicle and the guardrail.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene, just up the road from Allen Road near IKEA.

The Butler County Coroner's Office identified the deceased man Tuesday as 39-year-old Jamar D. Scott of Cincinnati. They said he died of traumatic asphyxia, but it appeared to be an accident and not suspicious.

Police said they think the car skipped off the bridge barrier and came to rest on the other side of the road. But they don’t know how the driver managed to get out of the vehicle and become pinned.

They said the vehicle is believed to be from Cincinnati.

No other details were provided.
