MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Police have two Middletown men in custody who are suspected to be involved in the death of a Middletown mother of nine children.

Lt. Scott Reeve said they located Jim Boyer, 63, and Keith Boyer, 32, walking at Verity Parkway and Oxford State Road, according to The Journal-News.

The two men are believed to be the last ones who saw the Middletown woman of the 1400 block of Yankee Road before she died Wednesday night, the Journal-News reported.

Police issued warrants for nine counts of child endangering, one count of theft, one count of abuse of a corpse, and one count of tampering with evidence.

Middletown police didn't identify the woman in their Facebook post, but wrote that she was the mother of children ranging between ages 1 and 14. The children's father is a hard worker who "has tried to make ends meet but it's a vicious cycle," police wrote.

Two men who were supposed to be the woman's friends left her to die and stole her money, telling her children they were going to go buy soda, according to police. They described the men as a possible father/son team.

"It has disturbed us so much that it's time for us to make a difference," police wrote.

Anyone with information is asked to call Middletown police at 513-425-7700.
