Police: Altercation over fireworks leaves one man dead

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — A man died Friday night in Middletown after he and another person got into an altercation over fireworks, according to the Middletown Police Department.

Around 10:30 p.m. Friday, the Middletown Police Department received a call that a man was stabbed in the 2100 block of Arlington Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they found Carlton Brock, 42, suffering from multiple stab wounds in a nearby alley. Emergency units transported Brock to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After investigating the scene, officers discovered Brock confronted Kenneth Roesch, 37, for setting off fireworks. The men had some kind of altercation, and Roesch stabbed Brock in his upper torso multiple times, according to police.

Roesch faces a murder charge, and he is expected to be arraigned early next week.
