HAMILTON, Ohio — A Hamilton man is dead after being struck by a train Saturday night, deputies said.
According to Butler County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ed Buns, emergency crews found 45-year-old Scott Batson on the train tracks near Penn Lane, deceased.
Batson’s last known address was on Kahn Avenue, Buns said.
Buns said the circumstances surrounding Batson’s death are still under investigation, but also said initial fact-gathering suggests it was accidental.
In his statement, Buns reminded residents that railroad tracks are dangerous and are the private property of the railroad. Buns encouraged drivers always to use caution and heed signals and gates when crossing railroad tracks.
The incident was still under investigation and no other information was immediately available.
