Hamilton residents without natural gas, heat

The natural gas outage in parts of Hamilton is expected to end around noon today, according to the Hamilton Department of Underground Utilities.

Around 150 customers in south-central Hamilton have experienced a natural gas outage since late Wednesday. These customers rely on the natural gas to heat their homes, and temperatures dipped overnight from Friday to Saturday into the 30s, and highs today are expected to be in the 40s.

Natural gas service has been interrupted in the following updated locations: Dixie Highway from Emery Avenue to Forest Avenue, Belle Avenue from Zimmerman Avenue to Dixie Highway, Williams Avenue from Madison Avenue to Dixie Highway, Fox Avenue from Skillman Avenue to Dixie Highway, Symmes Avenue from Zimmerman Avenue to Dixie Highway, Forest Avenue from Zimmerman Avenue to Dixie Highway, Fairview Avenue from Zimmerman Avenue to Dixie Highway.

Crews have been working since late Wednesday to drain waterlogged natural gas mains that have cut off service to dozens of people, according to the city. Restoration of natural gas service to all customers is expected to continue through the weekend.
