HAMILTON, Ohio -- A Hamilton mother of seven found out she had terminal cancer last month when she was involved in a crash.

Amanda Brandenburg, 30, was pregnant at the time of the crash, and she was forced into premature labor.

Her son, Deonte, is in the NICU. Although he is expected to be released next week, Brandenburg is in hospice with late-stage colon cancer. Her family says she doesn’t have much time left.

Bradenburg’s mother, Angela Wagers, said she was heartbroken when she learned there were no treatment options for her daughter. Wagers said she was already in liver failure when she learned she had cancer.

“I felt like I was spinning in a cyclone and I couldn’t get out,” she said.

Her sister-in-law, Emily Wagers, has spearheaded a movement to raise money for Bradenburg’s funeral expenses. She says the diagnosis “came as an utter shock.”

Wagers said any additional money raised will go directly to her children: Elliana, Ny'Asia, Kierah, Kaniah, Da'Karai, Charlie and Deonte.
