HAMILTON, Ohio — Former Butler County Sheriff Richard ‘Dick’ Holzberger died Sunday after suffering a massive stroke, the Journal News reported.
Holzberger was 70 years old.
The lifelong Hamilton resident served as Butler County Sheriff, Hamilton Police officer, and on the Hamilton City Council.
Current Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones tweeted his condolences to the family shortly before midnight Sunday.
After 17 years of operation, Holzberger closed his convenience store on South Third Street less than one month ago.
Information regarding funeral arrangements was not immediately available.
