Hamilton SWAT arrest two following ‘shots fired’ call

HAMILTON — Hamilton police arrested two people following a “shots fired” call to 911 which resulted in a standoff with SWAT officers that lasted several hours, according to the Journal-News.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Park Avenue about 10:45 p.m. Saturday and required SWAT officers to assist until the standoff was ended about 6 a.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported during the incident, police said.

Patrick Finnigan, 29, of Hamilton, was arrested for felonious assault, disorderly conduct/inducing panic, and failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer. Finnigan was booked into the Butler County Jail before 10 a.m. He is being held under a $44,586 bond.

Kelly Kamphaus, 34, of Hamilton, was also arrested for felonious assault, resisting arrest and inducing panic in the incident. She was booked into the Butler County Jail after 10 a.m. and is being held without bond.

Kamphaus was also wanted on several Hamilton Municipal Court bench warrants for failure to appear, contempt of court, failure to confine dog, sale of dogs, failure to file for dog tags, and failure to confine/restrain dog.

No court appearance information for Finnigan or Kamphaus was available Sunday.
