Pet deer could be taken from local family

Pet deer could be taken from Ripley, Ohio, family
Posted

RIPLEY, Ohio -- In May, a family in Ripley, Ohio, found a baby deer in their yard shortly after he was born. They started calling him Sugar and bottle-fed him goat's milk until he could eat on his own.

At the time, he was weak and "looked horrible," said Felicia Patterson.

Today, Sugar is a strong young buck who enjoys playing with Felicia, her son Hunter, and their Labrador retriever, and they said he's become a part of the family.

But now, he may be forced to leave his family and go out into the wild.
