RIPLEY, Ohio -- Brown County deputies have arrested a man accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend.
John R. Crum, 83, of Peebles, is charged with aggravated murder and murder in the death of 62-year-old Marsha Thigpen.
The Brown County Sheriff's Office received a report of an unresponsive woman on Ripley-Day Hill Road at about 10:29 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from Sheriff Gordon Ellis. When deputies arrived, they found Thigpen dead beside her pick-up truck.
Thigpen died of a gunshot wound to the head, deputies said.
Crum is being held in the Brown County jail. He is expected to be arraigned Friday.
