RIPLEY, Ohio -- A pair of vacant buildings collapsed late Wednesday night, forcing Brown County officials to close U.S. Route 52 as they cleared debris from the road.

The first building to collapse was the former Bodmer Hotel, which officials said started a ripple effects that damaged the second.

No one was injured by the debris.

The road reopened shortly after 5 a.m. Thursday, according to Brown County deputies.
