MOUNT ORAB, Ohio — Two people were hospitalized Thursday after being attacked by their own dog.
Officials told WCPO that the people attacked — the dog’s owners — were trying to break up a fight between their pets. While doing so, one of their dogs turned on them.
The woman involved suffered severe lacerations to her face and head, and the man lacerations to his arm.
Both were transported via helicopter to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment.
Officials could not confirm either individual’s condition.
The dog that attacked was taken to the Brown County Animal Shelter for testing, while the other dog is in the care of the couple’s family.
A neighbor told WCPO both dogs have always been friendly to him.
