FLORENCE, Ky. — A man has been arrested and charged with beating another man to death before putting him in a car and dumping him in his own front yard, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Office.
Police said officers responded to Bruce Drive at around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning and found 43-year-old David Gregory dead in his front yard. Phillip Alden, 23, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter after admitting he drove his knee into Gregory's head and punched him at a location on Greenlawn Avenue.
After the assault, Alden said he carried Gregory from a residence on Greenlawn Ave. and drove to Gregory's home on Bruce Drive, where Gregory was found lying in the front yard.
Alden is currently lodged at the Boone County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
