BOONE COUNTY, Ky. -- Drivers will soon be able to travel from Kentucky to Indiana in minutes.
The M.S. Lucky Lady will make its maiden voyage across the Ohio River at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The ferry, which will cross the river at the Mile 505 mark, will connect Rabbit Hash, Kentucky to Rising Sun, Indiana.
The barges are historic to the Ohio River; a ferry operated on the river from the 1800s until 1948.
The M.S. Lucky Lady will run every 15 minutes, and it can accommodate 10 cars. Round-trip tickets cost $8, and one-way tickets are $6.
