BURLINGTON, Ky. — At approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, 64-year-old William Wehner was seriously injured when a rock was thrown through the windshield of his car as he traveled north on KY-237 near Country Club Lane in Burlington.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office say a large rock came through the windshield, causing facial injuries. Wehner was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Wehner was able to pull his car off the road after the rock struck.

According to police, this was the second reported incident during the night, and Sheriff's deputies searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect.

These incidents follow six reported cases of rocks thrown at vehicles on a stretch of Interstate 75 and Fort Washington Way last week in Cincinnati. Police say at least six vehicles were damaged. No one was hurt, and the suspect is at-large.

Anyone with information about these crimes is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040, or the Boone County Sheriff's Office at 859-334-2175.
