FLORENCE, Ky. — FLORENCE, Ky. — One person was killed in a house fire on Thursday morning, according to Chief Scott Knoll.
Firefighters responded to a home on Cayton Road near Creekside Drive at about 8:10 a.m. for a fire that had started in the basement.
Firefighters found a victim in a basement bedroom; they were pronounced dead at the scene.
A second person in the home was not injured.
It was not immediately clear what caused the fire. An investigation was ongoing Thursday morning.
