FLORENCE, Ky. – A Northern Kentucky man is dead after his car slammed into a tractor-trailer on I-75 Thursday.

Authorities said 27-year-old Kyle Lafferty, of Walton, was driving southbound on I-75 and weaving in and out of traffic when his 2003 Toyota Camry crashed into a tractor-trailer parked on the right shoulder near mile marker 177.

A witness told police Lafferty's car drifted onto the exit ramp to the southbound rest area but then veered back onto the interstate shoulder and struck the tractor trailer from behind.

Crews pronounced Lafferty dead at the scene and the driver of the tractor-trailer was left unharmed.
