FLORENCE, Ky. — The baseball team formerly known as the Florence Freedom are expected to announce their new name and logo Tuesday evening after asking for fans to take part in the naming process.
The team's front office held a months long campaign asking for input from the public on what their new name should be, and then the team allowed the public to vote on what name they liked best.
The top five names people voted on were;
- the Florence Go-Goettas
- the Florence Fossil Jockeys
- the Florence Y'alls
- the Florence Pop Flies
- and the Florence No Sox.
Florence's Mayor Diane Whalen, as well as the team's CEO, David Delbello, and general manager, Josh Anderson, will be at the announcement event.
