BURLINGTON, Ky. -- One person is dead and another person is injured after a mobile home caught fire Wednesday morning, according to Jeff Hermes, chief of Belleview McVille Fire Protection District.
Firefighters were dispatched at about 4:30 a.m. to a fire at 9192 East Bend Road. The mobile home was completely on fire by the time crews arrived, and they weren't able to get inside. Crews had the fire out by 6:30 a.m.
Firefighters had to use water from a tanker because the home is located in a rural area. Hermes said water supply was not an issue.
"We don't have hydrants in this area, so we had to shuttle our own water," Hermes said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
